What is your style?

I love clean classic images, black and white images and outdoor images with lots of color.  I am not a candid photographer, but will incorporate the fun you have with your family so your personality shows through.  My newborn sessions are in-studio and mostly posed.

How far in advance do you book your portraits sessions?

I usually book between six to eight weeks in advance for weekday sessions.  These are based on first-come, first-serve basis and availability.  The first to make a deposit for a specific day has first pick of times. Be sure to book early to guarantee your time. Follow my Facebook page to keep on top of any last minute available dates and times. I try to be as flexible as possible for my clients, so if you are looking for images within a certain time period give me a call and I will do everything I can to set something up that works for both of us.

How far in advance do I need to book my newborn session?

I usually book newborn sessions about 2-3 months in advance (typically following a maternity portrait session). I like to pencil in a “tentative” date at first.  This is based on your due date plus five days.  I have days set aside to accommodate early or late arrivals. My goal is to have the session within the first 14 days of your precious one’s birth.  The first 5-7 days is optimal.

Will You Travel?

Travel is usually only to my LIMITED EDITION FAMILY sessions held in Richland, Newberry and Lexington counties, South Carolina. But, I'm open to other locations! I do have beach sessions available and have been hired to travel to a variety of states by clients. Reasonable travel fees are applied.

How many images will I receive?

The number of images will depend on the session selected.  Newborn images are generally around 20, give or take a few and the level of cooperation from the infant.  Maternity images are generally around 15 images.  Any other sessions will depend on the type of session purchased.  In addition to this, you will also receive all images in black and white, as well.

Do you offer digital files?

Yes, I do offer digital files as part of your professional service fee. Please note that the prints you get from third parties will not be professional grade in quality, longevity or color richness.  I will provide you with a list of labs that are appropriate for professional printing.  I do not allow printing at big box stores. Copyright is always maintained by me.

Do you have a baby plan?

I do have a baby plan starting with maternity to 1st year.  There are four sessions included - maternity, newborn, 6-8 months (or when baby is sitting upright without assistance) and 1 year.

Do you ever need models?

Yes. I am always expanding my portfolio, trying out new techniques and honing my skills.  Model sessions are NOT free, but are reduced.  They are also specific to MY needs, not the models and are very structured.  Models may not make posing requests.  If you are interested, please contact me and we will discuss the details.

Will you help us with what we should wear?

Absolutely! At your initial consultation, we will discuss some ideas that will have you and your family looking great!  But, here is a starting point - Lay all of your clothing for all participants across your bed to see if the colors and shades look great together.  You are creating one great big outfit for your family.  Avoid too many patterns, but certainly include them.  Just don't over do it.  Accessorize!  Jewelry, vests, scarves and hats are fabulous for making your images unique.  Men should not wear watches unless it is for professional head or waist shots. Or, if it is a very special gift that needs to be included in the image.  What you wear should be complementary, but no one should be dressed exactly like someone else.  PLEASE AVOID RUBBER BANDS ON YOUR WRISTS.

We have a family pet that we would like in our family picture.  Can we bring them?

Sure! Keep in mind animals add a whole new level of unpredictability that takes up more time. The number of images you get in your session may be reduced.  The animal must be a family owned pet and can not be borrowed, rented or used only for the session due to USDA regulations.  Pets may only be incorporated into outdoor sessions.

Where do you prefer to photograph the sessions?

This will depend on the type and style of session you choose.  I have a variety of outdoor locations to choose from.  Newborns and maternity sessions are always done in my studio and corporate/professional/modelling headshots are generally done in studio, as well.

How long does it take to get our pictures back?

In general, it takes approximately 4-5 weeks, less any holiday or unforeseen events, for the final images to be ready for proofing depending on my workload. I do not outsource the production of my images like many photographers do.  All production is done by me personally, and therefore, takes more time. I also do not run my images through pre-set action programs for a generic appearance.  I look at each image and make decisions as to the production elements based on my vision for the work.

If you have any other questions, please do  not hesitate to contact me.  I look forward to working with you.
